PhD student/researcher in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Johns Hopkins University
For my dissertation work I am investigating the process of subduction initiation through field studies, geochemistry, and geochronology applied to ophiolite complexes. My research area spans the length of the Appalachian-Caledonian mountain range from Alabama, USA to Leka, Norway.
In addition to my research I focus on AJEDI (Accessibility, Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) efforts within my department and the greater geoscience community including:
– Promoting accessibility for all in geosciences
– Promoting and participating in the development of safety measures for field courses
– Promoting and participating in anti-racism learning initiatives such as URGE and Academics for Black Survival and Wellness
